Ikkat from Gujarat, known as the ikkat Patola Sari are either the vertically resist dyed, single ikkat from Rajkot or the horizontally resist dyed double ikkat from Paton. Patola sarees are known for their flaming bright colours and geometric designs interwoven with folk motifs. Flowers, animals, birds and human figures form the basic design.
